Generic STAR TREK The Next Generation Bridge
Just like my generic TOS bridge ( theshepster.deviantart.com/art… ), I created a generic TNG bridge layout for a Federation starship. It was inspired by various ships from Star Trek TNG, DS9, and Voyager.

The full size of the poster is A2 (594 x 420 mm) with 300dpi resolution, you can download the full size with the button on the right. The poster is in 28/32 mm scale for use in Star Trek TNG roleplaying game campaigns.

Most of the furniture was created by myself, some parts come from the Dundjinni forums. The LCARS are partially by me and partially gathered from the internet.

Thanks to all artists, whose work has become part of this bridge layout. Constructive comments and critique welcome.

STAR TREK is (C) CBS/Paramount.

TNG Type 6 Shuttle 5x3 Tile
Another shuttlecraft tile for Star Trek themed RPGs, this time TNG era. The tile is 5 x 3 inches big and should be in the correct size for use with 28 mm minis.
Many thanks to everyone in the dundjinni.com forums for providing most of the furniture. The displays were created from screenshots and by modifying various graphics found all around the internet. Many thanks to all original creators for sharing their work with the world.

USS Persephone NX-63109
In the aftermath of the battle against the Borg at Wolf359, Starfleet was desperate to re-stock their fleet, resulting in all sorts of new designs being developed and built. Persephone class was one of these designs. Intended to be a (relatively) small and swift exploration and surveillance vessel, ships of this class were stationed along various borders, especially the Romulan Neutral Zone and the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone.
USS Persephone NX-63109 entered service as first ship of her class in late 2368 (Stardate 46202.7) under the command of Captain Lissan Shran.
Measurements: L 262.50 m; W 148.91 m; H 40.02 m
# of Decks: 10
Crew: 97
Sharing many design features with Intrepid class (especially interior), Persephone class can be seen as an elder sibling of Intrepid class.

I created this starship class for my old Star Trek RPG group. After almost 20 years, we will meet again in a few weeks to continue the voyages of the USS Lincoln. However, as the GM, I decided to upgrade their ship from FASA's Northampton class ( www.angelfire.com/planet/bruno… in a 24c refit version) to a more modern yet smaller vessel. They will still be aboard USS Lincoln, but it will be a Persephone class ship. Also, we will switch systems from FASA Trek to Far Trek, a fast and rules light independent RPG downloadable at fartrekrpg.blogspot.de/

The parts for the ship are from Captain Shade and Canid D, kindly provided here on dA by :iconkavinveldar: here kavinveldar.deviantart.com/art…, here kavinveldar.deviantart.com/art… and here kavinveldar.deviantart.com/art… … Many thanks.

Star Trek is of course (C) by CBS/Paramount, the graphic design of the starship parts by the people mentioned above. I only take credit for Persephone class.

Boys n their toys: Grendel - heroforge 2 papermini
So, I found out about this cool site where you can design your very own special minis and have them 3D-printed: heroforge.com. And since I needed a mini for my new Shadowrun character (a troll gunslinger/close combat specialist named Grendel), I thought to give it  a try. I started out with some other minis first in order to get a grip on how the site works. Then I created Grendel, having quite a lot of fun in the process. Before heading on to choosing the printing material, I read the legal mumbojumbo of heroforge and found out that they are working with Shapeways, which is in fact quite good for me, as they have a factory in the Netherlands, so shipping would not be that expensive.

However, herofroge's cheapest material would cost around 15 € per mini. Also, from the description of the material and being an old customer of Shapeways, I guess they use WSF (White Strong Flexible) for that level, meaning that most of the very fine details (eyes, tiny creaves, etc.) would be reduced to "glumps". So, to me 15 € seems a little bit expensive for a mini that after all might be much less detailed as the 3D image I just created.

To be honest, that's just my impression based on my experience with 3D prints in WSF. It might just as well be that the minis would indeed look really good. I'll have to give it a try one day. But, since right now I don't want to take any chances spending 15 € on a mini that might not entirely satisfy my expectations, I decided to walk down a different lane... ;)

Aside from saving your mini creations (you have to register a free account first), you can take a screenshot of your mini which saves a .png of the creation to your HDD. A .png without background, that is... :)

So, I saved a screenshot, opened it in Photoshop and colored the mini on a different layer set to "Overlay". After some filter magic to let the coloured mini look like it was drawn, I turned it into a papermini. The mini has no real backside, just a mirrored greyscale version of the front, but that's okay for me, especially regarding that the papermini cost me around 5 cents, which is around .3 % of what the 3D print would have been (not calculating the shipping)... :D

So, what do you think? Building minis on heroforge, snapping a screenshot, colouring it and turning the creation into a (one-sided) papermini – great idea or not?
